I was particularly pleased to see Darrah come through with Brimstone. Seeing nice young horses and riders making a name for themselves at this level is always exciting and does our prospects for future international honors no harm at all. They will both be ones to watch next spring . . . Captain Mark Phillips (USET Three-Day Eventing Coach)

Born in 1972 in Canandaigua, NY, Darrah Alexander showed facility for equitation at a very young age. Riding borrowed horses, and under her mother's instruction, Darrah's skills progressed steadily until 1988 when she was noticed by US Equestrian Team member, Louise Meryman, while participating in an Area 1 "Young Riders" clinic. Recognizing her talent and potential, Ms. Meryman invited Darrah to relocate and become a full-time working student at Treeline Farm in Pine Plains, NY.

By 1999, although on a limited budget and riding horses others refused to touch, Darrah's commitment and determination to become an internationally recognized 3 Day-Event rider propelled her to the top of the leader-board and earned her a position on the US Equestrian Team's Developing Rider Program.

As part of the Program, Darrah was selected to participate in the USET's training sessions for the following 3 years.

During this period, Darrah earned respect within the 3 Day-Eventing world by finishing in 11th place at the prestigious Fox Hall Cup CCI*** and was short listed to represent the United States for the 2001 European Championships at Burghley CCI****. (Due to an unfortunate injury, Darrah was unable to compete)

Beyond Darrah's impressive competitive achievements, she has also worked hard to support the local equestrian community. Her long days consist of working and training horses and teaching local students within the Eventing, Dressage and Fox-Hunting disciplines, often instructing as many as 15 students per day.

Darrah is also involved with the production of the Millbrook Horse Trials.

Darrah has begun training and competing the recently purchased horse, "Law & Order", that she intends to take her to the to the top of her sport. Her ultimate goal: A spot on the US Olympic Team for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.

In support of her goal, Darrah offers sponsorship opportunities to individuals and corporations interested in helping United States riders succeed on the international. Eventing stage. For more information on sponsorship, contact Darrah.
